Thomas Farmer Junior

Thomas Jnr was born before his parents emigrated to the Swan River Colony in 1829. He was born in Kent, England on 24th August 1927.

When eleven years of age, he was apprenticed to the tailor Mr. F. Waldeck, a devote Christian. Thomas Jnr became a lay preacher with the Methodist Church in Perth.

He married Lydia Inkpen, the daughter of James Edward and Lydia Inkpen (nee Adams) on 1st June 1850 in the Wesleyan Chapel, Perth. The Inkpen family arrived in the Colony on the “Gilmore” in December 1829.

The children of Thomas Jnr and Lydia were: Lydia (1851 – lived for ½ hour), Andrew (1852 – 1875), Lydia (1854 – 1925), Amelia (1856 – 1932), Clara Ann (1857 – 1935), Celina (1859 – 1860), Thomas (1861 – 1861), James (1861 – 1861), Herbert (1862 - ) and Minnie Caroline (1864 – 1891).
